Bournemouth join race to sign Theo Walcott

Theo Walcot is set to leave Arsenal this month as several teams continue to show interest in signing him.

Sun Sport is reporting that Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth is the latest team to show interest in his signature.

The 28 years old has been left frustrated by a lack of trust from Arsene Wenger this season, and he looks set to leave the Emirates after 12 years.

His former team Southampton and Sam Allardyce’s Everton are the frontrunners for his signature at the moment.

Arsenal are looking to make at least £20 million from his transfer as they look to bring in new players.

Howe whose Bournemouth defeated the Gunners at the weekend has joined the race as he looks to help his Cherries avoid relegation.

Arsenal and Bournemouth have a good relationship after Jack Wilshere spent last season on-loan at the Vitality Stadium, but the final decision on where his future would be lies in the hands of Walcot.

The England international is hoping to go to this year’s World Cup in Russia and wants a guarantee of more playing time.

A move to Southampton would be an emotional one for him as he left the Saints as a 16 years old teenager in 2006, but he would prefer to remain closer to London.

Walcot is expected to decide which club he would move to before the end of this week.
