Chelsea face a major hurdle in their quest to sign Andrea Belotti from Torino.
The Blues have targeted the Italian striker for the past two seasons, but they have been unable to convince the Turin based side to sell.
Last summer Antonio Conte was desperate to sign Belotti as a replacement for Diego Costa, but Torino insisted that they would only discuss his transfer if the Blues triggered his £100 million release clause.
Chelsea decided to sign Alvaro Morata.
But the Spaniard has been below-par this season, and in a classic example of how terrible he can be, he missed three one-v-one chances against Arsenal.
The Blues have plans to return for Belotti after this season, but they now face serious completion.
According to Sun Sport, Atletico Madrid are hoping to sign Belotti as a replacement for Antoine Griezmann who is leaving the Wanda Metropolitana after this season.
Belotti would not be at the World Cup in Russia after Italy failed to qualify, but he expects to move to a bigger club before the 2018/2019 season.
Real Madrid are also interested in signing him, but they are currently hoping Benzema and Co. can start scoring goals sooner.
