Manchester United and Chelsea have been dealt a major blow in their quest to sign Marco Asensio.
The Spanish teenager has emerged as one of the most prodigious youngsters in the world over the past two seasons.
Although he signed a new six years deal with Real Madrid in September, he was reportedly at risk of getting sold as Real Madrid consider a move for Neymar.
The purchase of Neymar would require a significant outlay from Real Madrid such that they would need to sell some of their own big name stars.
Asensio is highly sought-after and reports were claiming that he would be sold to bring in a huge part of the required investment.
However, Sun Sport is claiming that the teenager has pledge his future to the European champions.
Speaking to a Spanish media outlet, Asensio empathies with Zinedine Zidane for the tough decision he has to make about who plays, as they have a big team with good players.
He went on to clarify his position at the club by claiming he was “happy at Real Madrid.”
