Newcastle United’s bid to avoid relegation this season has seen them being linked with some audacious transfers.
This time, they have been linked with a move for Chelsea defender, David Luiz.
Luiz has fallen down the perking order in Antonio Conte’s team following his performance in Chelsea’s Champions League loss to AS Roma at the end of October.
Since that month, the Brazilian has not been considered for selection, with Academy graduate Andreas Christensen favoured ahead of him at the moment.
Luiz is currently out with an injury and hopes to resume full training next month, however, he may find his path to the first team blocked.
Rafael Benitez is desperate for quality addition to his team as he looks to guide them to Premier League safety at the end of this season, and wants to add David Luiz to his line up.
Benitez is poised to make a loan offer for Luiz while the Blues consider his future.
The Spaniard hopes that the prospect of missing the world cup if he does not feature for the Blues would see Luiz decide to join them and help save them from relegation.
The Magpies are also credited with an interest in signing Luke Shaw next month.
