Chelsea could be landing their next Russian star next winter thanks to their owner’s desire to land Aleksandr Golovin from CSKA Moscow.
The 21 years old has been capped 15 times by his country already and looks set to be the break out Russian star in next year’s world cup.
Roman Abramovich believes the player’s valuation could sky-rocket after the competition and wants to secure his signature sooner. He is reportedly ready to offer £15 million for the CSKA Moscow central midfielder.
Despite his age, Golovin is not short on experience.
He is a regular for his club and played in all CSKA’s Champions League games this season.
Although he has featured further forward, he has been used mainly as a central midfielder, and he has three goals and two assists in 16 Russian league games.
Arsenal are also admirers of the Russian, but it is unclear if Wenger would want to fight with the Blues for his signature.
If he does sign for the Blues, Antonio Conte would have to decide if he would add him to his first team roaster on send him out on loan.
