Arsenal heads into the World Cup break at the top of the Premier League table after their 2-0 win at Wolves yesterday.
The Gunners have been in fine form for much of this season and had to take advantage of Manchester City’s loss to Brentford earlier in the day.
The Gunners struggled in the first half of the game and Granit Xhaka had to be taken off because he felt ill.
It has now been revealed that he suffered food poisoning and he was not the only player who ate the same meal or had the same symptoms.
Speaking after the win, Arteta said via Matchplug: ‘[Xhaka] wasn’t feeling good, he was sick and he could not carry on.
‘Unfortunately, we have another four players with the same symptoms. So, I don’t know what exactly happened.
‘There were a few players who were not feeling great but obviously make three or four substitutions at that period.’
