Liverpool have expressed their interest in signing Wolverhampton midfielder Ruben Neves.
It’s no longer news that the Reds are in the market this summer for a dynamic midfielder who will bring the creativity and energy their team seems to lack.
They had been on the hunt for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham but have come to terms with the fact that they can’t afford the young Englishman.
They have turned their attention to several alternatives, with Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Neves one of their key targets.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool have a concrete interest in acquiring the 26-year-old, who is expected to leave the West Midlands outfit this summer.

But Jurgen Klopp’s men are not the only club circling. Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona are the favourites to sign the Portuguese midfielder, having been linked with the player for several transfer windows.
According to Insider reports, the Blaugrana may use Ansu Fati in a part-exchange deal to bring Neves to Camp Nou. The Wolves captain is said to have already agreed on personal terms with the Spanish club.
However, Liverpool is” waiting in the wings” if Barca ends their pursuit of Neves. The La Liga giants are facing financial complications and must shed €200m off their wage bill. Wolves reportedly want just cash for their midfielder, which only bodes well for Liverpool.
