Stephen Curry is on the road with the Golden State Warriors, but his return to the court remains uncertain.<\/p>\n
Curry missed his 17th straight game Sunday night as the Warriors fell to the New York Knicks 110-107 at Madison Square Garden to open a six-game road trip. The star guard was present for the game despite still being held out due to right knee pain and inflammation. His next evaluation is not expected until next weekend.<\/p>\n
Coach Steve Kerr said having Curry around still means something to the team.
\n“Just feels better when he’s in the room,” Kerr said. “He’s trending in the right direction and he’s in good spirits. And just having him on the trip is important for our morale.”
\nCurry last played on January 30 and is limited to individual workouts only. He is not expected to play in any of the remaining five games on this trip.<\/p>\n
Golden State is 9-18 without him this season. Kerr called Curry one of a kind and said this is the longest stretch without him since the 2019-20 season, when Curry broke his left hand and appeared in only five games.<\/p>\n
The injury news got worse on Sunday. The Warriors announced that Seth Curry and veteran forward Al Horford both had MRIs after being hurt. Seth Curry has a mild left groin strain and Horford a mild left calf strain. Both will be re-evaluated in a week.
