\u201cSo, we kind of knew that we were going to be going a little deep during practice. We kind of got our bodies and our minds ready for what we\u2019re going to be doing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That message fits the buzz around Worthy, who was selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft<\/strong> by Kansas City after setting a record 4.21-second 40-yard dash<\/strong> at the Scouting Combine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the Chiefs have remained dominant<\/strong>, even winning three Super Bowls in the past five seasons<\/strong>, their offense has lacked the explosive vertical threat it had during the Tyreek Hill<\/strong> era. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes<\/a>‘ average depth of target has dipped under 8 yards in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Worthy<\/a> believes that will soon change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI feel like they started using me a lot underneath,\u201d Xavier Worthy explained.
\u201cAnd I can get started over the top because me and Pat are building that rapport together. We\u2019re going to build it in training camp.
We got it going at the end of the Super Bowl a little bit, so that was a great feeling to be able to connect deep towards the end of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
