Spanish footballer Alvaro Negredo has announced his retirement from football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a social media post on Thursday, he said,  “Thanks, football,” while hanging up a pair of boots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 39 year old forward who helped Real Valladolid<\/a> secure their promotion to the La Liga last season, has been without a club for a while now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of his career, Negredo<\/a> played for Sevilla<\/a>, Manchester City<\/a> and Valencia<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also spent time in Turkey with Besiktas<\/a>, as well as with Middlesbrough<\/a> in the Premier League.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
