Before the World Series began, Fernando Valenzuela dying was news that rocked the MLB and Mexican baseball. His death hit the Los Angeles Dodgers the hardest, as that was where Valenzuela became a star in the 1980s. Freddie Freeman was crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Fall Classic.
