The Los Angeles Dodgers <\/a>pitcher Julio Ur\u00edas was arrested on a felony charge of corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Department said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He did not travel with the Dodgers to Miami, where they\u2019ll open a three-game series against the Marlins on Tuesday night.

He has been scheduled to make his next start Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor us, now it\u2019s day to day,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said before the game. \u201cI don\u2019t want to get too far ahead of things. As time\u2019s gone on with certain things, you learn that simplifying, day to day, is the best way to handle it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urias was picked up late Sunday night by Department of Public Safety officers in Exposition Park, south of downtown Los Angeles. The park houses the BMO Stadium, where Lionel Messi was playing a Major League Soccer match with many celebrities attending.

LASD Deputy Maria Lucero affirmed the felony charge. DPS has not released details of the arrest. Except for acknowledging \u201can incident involving Julio Ur\u00edas,\u2019\u2019 the Dodgers have failed to make any comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ur\u00edas posted ,000 bail and was released early Monday morning, according to sheriff\u2019s department booking records.

He is due to appear in court on September 27th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not the first time Ur\u00edas had a run-in with the law. In 2019, the pitcher was arrested for domestic battery.

He was suspended for 20 games by MLB, but he was not prosecuted by the Los Angeles city attorney on the condition that he complete a 52-week domestic violence counselling program. No player has been suspended twice under MLB\u2019s joint domestic violence policy since its establishment in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
