Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he took too long to change ‘big things’ at the club following their struggles earlier this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool’s hopes of securing a top-four finish look dead and buried last month as they found themselves 12 points off Newcastle and Manchester United.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, a run of six consecutive league wins has them sitting just one point behind Manchester United, who occupy that fourth and final spot and hold a game-in-hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahead of their trip to Leicester on Monday<\/a>, Klopp said: “I spoke about that quite frequently. We tried to give ourselves a chance for a fresh start. We tried different football things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We had eight or nine days for training between games. We wanted to almost start the new season already; it was a breath of fresh air for all of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We want to control the game differently, protect it differently, build up differently. It’s really good fun for us to create something new. Then the results came in, and it’s not a complete coincidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
