Chelsea will reportedly announce the signing of Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal this week after the Villarreal forward completed a medical.
The free-spending Blues are continuing their summer rebuild and have made the first big signing this summer by landing the 222-year-old Jackson.
According to The Athletic, the Senegal international has undergone a medical at Chelsea and will become the club’s first senior signing since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.

Jackson will join Chelsea in a deal worth €35 million (£30m/$38m) after the London club agreed to meet his release clause.
Although he is a little-known player, the Senegalese enjoyed an impressive season at Villarreal, scoring 13 goals in 38 appearances. He is expected to sign an eight-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, his arrival will likely see Kai Havertz complete his long-awaited transfer to Arsenal for a fee of around £65million ($83m).
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s busy summer is set to continue this week, with several outgoings expected. The Blues have already let N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly leave for Saudi Arabia last week, with the official departure of the latter to be confirmed soon. The duo will likely be followed out of the door by Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy, who are both targeted by clubs in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the futures of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Romelu Lukaku, Christian Pulisic and Cesar Azipilicueta, while Mason Mount’s transfer to Manchester United remains in the works.
