Manchester City defender Kyle Walker is reportedly close to joining Bayern Munich.

The Englishman has spent six successful years at the Etihad Stadium since joining from Tottenham. But he has now grown tired of life at the Manchester club after he was used sparingly as City won the treble in the just concluded season.

His lack of game time has motivated him to seek a move elsewhere, and he has found suitors in Bayern Munich.

According to The Athletic, the Bavarians are closely monitoring Walker’s situation at City and have offered him a deal to join them at Allianz Arena this summer. The Bundesliga giants see the right-back as a perfect right-back and are a better option than João Cancelo, who they signed on loan from City in January.

Although the deal is not complete, Bayern are confident that they can pull it off. They do not expect the fee and personal terms to be an issue, as Walker has just a year left on his contract.

Thomas Tuchel is also said to be central to Bayern’s quest for the player, with the former Chelsea boss said to be a big admirer of the 33-year-old England international.

Walker made 254 appearances for City in six seasons. He has won five Premier League titles, four League Cups, and two FA Cups.
